Dear friends,
Many, many moons ago I went on a ten-week hitch-hiking pilgrimage around “sacred places and public houses” of Britain.
Several times since I’ve tried to write up the outer and inner adventure, but have rarely got further than Canterbury. However, with a good quarter of a million words now stewing on the creative compost heap, I’ve finally found a writing voice I’m happy with, and a way of writing up the journey.
Chunk by digestible chunk, I’m going to be revisiting my footsteps and thumbprints, so that I can write in the present tense from within the places I originally visited – and pick up stories and details and information I may have missed first time round.
Having recently spent a couple of days at Avebury, and a day and (unintended) night hitching, One For The Road is a twenty page taste of what I’m up to. As you’ll see, I’m going to be weaving poetry and prose together. Drop me a line if you'd prefer it in pdf form.
If you read it, I really hope you enjoy it. I always write for you, my friends.
And if you’d like to support me in bringing One For The Road to fruition, please see my village funding project below. This will not just help me get the book written and published, it will also be a great boost to this new chapter in my writing career and life.

VILLAGE FUNDING FOR ONE FOR THE ROAD
Welcome to my Village Funding page.
If you've enjoyed reading One For The Road, and would like to read more, please consider supporting my writing pilgrimage by advance purchasing a copy of the book. This would give me a proper boost.
There are four support options to choose from – see below. Once you've chosen your option, then contact me, telling me which one you've chosen.
Money raised will go towards my writing research, providing me with a basic income, and towards the printing costs of the book. I will be based – rent-free – at my cabin in Devon.
Thanks, my friends
