Why aren’t we all raving drunks?
by Hafez

The sun once glimpsed God’s true nature
and was never the same again

Constantly
that grateful celestial orb
rains down energy
upon this earth
(as does The Mystery from behind
the veil)

With such a generous God as this
why isn’t everyone a raving drunk?

Hafez’s guess is this:

Any thought that you are better or less
than another

and the wine glass
instantly
shatters
